The reaction of PF with EtOH and BuOH under analogous conditions also formed mixtures of the ethyl and butyl ethers from which 4-oxo-9-O-ethyl(butyl) ethers were isolated as the tetra-O-acetates. The structures of the obtained compounds were confirmed using PMR and 13C NMR spectra.
