История развития онкологической службы берёт своё начало с августа 1945 года. На базе хирургического отделения республиканской клинической больницы (РКБ), открыт онкологический диспансер (РОД) на 50 коек. Развитие онкологической службы происходило за счет расширения мест в республиканском онкологическом диспансере на базе РКБ, открытию новых отделений в городах Башкирии и объединению профессионалов, занимающихся применением ионизирующих и прочих видов излучения в медицине для целей лечения и диагностики заболеваний. В 1966 году происходит перевод диспансера в новый корпус, а в 1969 году происходит объединение Республиканского онкологического диспансера с Уфимским городским. В 1980-е годы Республиканский онкологический диспансер является самым крупным онкологическим диспансером страны, в нём были организованы 10 профильных клинических отделений, из которых 8 хирургического и 2 радиологического профиля. Начиная с 1990-х годов на базе диспансера функционируют кафедры лучевой диагностики и онкологии Башкирского Государственного Медицинского Университета (БГМУ). В июне 2010 года происходит открытие хирургического корпуса, оснащенного современным технологичным оборудованием. В 2014 году на базе диспансера открыт ПЭТцентр. На сегодняшний день онкологическая служба представлена многоуровневой структурой включая онкодиспансер, межрайонные онкологические отделения, межмуниципальные медицинские онкоцентры, центры амбулаторной онкологической помощи и первичные онкологические кабинеты.

The development of the oncological service was due to the expansion of places in the republican oncological dispensary on the basis of the RCB, the opening of new departments in the cities of Bashkiria and the association of professionals involved in the use of ionizing and other types of radiation in medicine for the treatment and diagnosis of diseases. In 1966, the dispensary was transferred to a new building, and in 1969, the Republican Oncological Dispensary was merged with the Ufa city one. In the 1980s, the Republican Oncological Dispensary was the largest oncological dispensary in the country, 10 specialized clinical departments were organized in it, of which 8 were surgical and 2 radiological. Since the 1990s, the Departments of Radiation diagnostics and Oncology of the Bashkir State Medical University (BSMU) have been operating on the basis of the dispensary. In June 2010, the surgical building was opened, equipped with modern technological equipment. In 2014, a PET center was opened on the basis of the dispensary. Today, the oncological service is represented by a multi-level structure including an oncological dispensary, inter-district oncological departments, intermunicipal medical oncological centers, outpatient oncological care centers and primary oncological offices.
