В сыворотке крови и слезной жидкости у больных псевдоэксфолиативной глаукомой (ПЭГ) был выявлен повышенный уровень эндотелина-1, наименьшее содержание которого было характерно для ранних стадий заболевания и повышалось параллельно возрастанию тяжести патологии. Определение эндотелина-1 у больных ПЭГ с различной длительностью заболевания показало, что максимальная его концентрация наблюдается у больных с длительностью ПЭГ более 10 лет.Было показано, что повышение содержания эндотелина-1, являющегося классическим маркером дисфункции эндотелия, регистрируется на более поздних стадиях заболевания и ассоциируется с повышенным риском прогрессирования данного вида патологии.

The elevated level of the endotheline-1 had been identified in the serum and tear fluid of patients with pseudoexfoliative glaucoma (PEG). Concentration of endotheline-1 was minimal in the early stage of the disease and increased in advanced stages. Determiation of endotheline-1 in PEG patients indicated that its maximum concentration was registered among the persons with the diseases duration more than 10 years.It was demonstrated, that the increase of endotheline-1, which is looked upon as the classical marker of endothelial dysfunction, is registered at later stages of the disease and is associated with the increased risk of progressing of this disorder.
